How bearings & mounted bearings requirements are handled
Bearing requirements are the single most common request type H&H receives from international buyers. Nearly all of them are driven by a marking on a failed component rather than by a catalog: a buyer sends a manufacturer name and an alphanumeric designation, and the sourcing question is whether that exact designation can be obtained through established U.S. channels.
Bearing part numbers carry meaning in their prefixes and suffixes — internal clearance, cage material, seal or shield arrangement, precision class, and lubrication can all be encoded outside the base number. H&H quotes what you specify. We do not translate a base number into a suffixed variant, and we do not approve a different bearing as equivalent to the one you sent.
Mounted units add a second layer: the insert, the housing, the locking method, and the shaft size are separate decisions that the unit designation encodes together. Sending the full unit designation, plus the shaft diameter, avoids the most common round trip on this category.
